Our Work
Our Work > ONS well-being
One of the most prominent new national-level policy initiatives of 2010 was the proposal to define, and measure, public “happiness” or “well-being”.
The first part of this work involved the engagement of a broad cross-section of the public to develop a better understanding of what “well-being” means to people. dxw led the design of a site to present supporting information around this topic, and the development of an innovative set of tools to make the capture and analysis of their subsequent feedback far more efficient and straightforward than it would have been using existing tools.
What we did
- Strategy
- We worked with ONS to scope a set of overall requirements which formed the backlog of our development work
- Design
- Clean, engaging designs were needed which set a "non-corporate" tone, but with enough formality to convey the importance of this national-level consultation
- Build
- We developed the site in WordPress, making use of our core dxw Consult product to power the capture and analysis of public responses
What the client said
-
We were very pleased to get the test site and hosting set up so quickly. We were also impressed by the prompt delivery of a particularly piece of functionality which had become a high priority for ONS.
