Introducing Adam
Hi, I’m Adam and I’m the even newer developer on the team at dxw!
I first found out about dxw in the middle of 2013 when they offered to sponsor an event I organised for the web community. Since then I’ve kept in touch with some of the team (old and new) and have become extremely impressed with the work they’re doing in the public sector and with user experience. So I’m incredibly excited to become the newest member of this incredibly talented team.
To introduce myself a little, I come from a background of working in digital and design agencies. Starting in Oxford I worked for a lot of small businesses as an all-round web developer. In that time I’ve built up my knowledge of web development with a specialism in WordPress and a variety of front-end technologies. I then made the move to London and started to specialise more in front-end development working with some well-known consumer and corporate companies. I’ve even built a website for the Hoff!
Outside of the day jobs I’m an active member of the web community. I regularly speak at conferences around the UK (one time in New York too) and have even organised a series of events and web content for one of my side projects, 12 Devs. Community is one of the greatest parts of our industry and I’m grateful that dxw share my enthusiasm, contributing to events and sharing their ideas. I’m looking forward to getting involved with their work in this area too.
This is my first time working with the public sector and I can’t wait to dive in and get started. It’s one thing building websites promoting a product of some description, trying to convince people what they should spend their money on. But building something for users, improving their experiences, that sounds much more interesting to me these days.
