Introducing Hilary
Hello, I’m Hilary, the newest user researcher to join dxw.
Before joining dxw, I led the UX writing team and managed the digital help service for a global eReading company. I wore several hats during my tenure including product owner, editor-in-chief, and of course, user researcher. After years of working on product and content strategy for a digital help service, it’s become second nature for me to strive to understand and meet user needs when building digital products.
Prior to that, I received my MA in Communication and Cultural Studies, an interdisciplinary programme where I cut my teeth on rigorous qualitative research methods and experience design.
Having recently relocated from Canada, I’m really excited to be part of the dxw team delivering digital services for the public sector. Some of the most exciting work in service design happens in the United Kingdom, and is in no small part due to the Digital by Default strategy and the foundational work of Government Digital Service (and its predecessors). Working with the rest of the dxw team, many of whom are GDS alumni, is a dream come true and to me, feels a bit like I’ve joined the Premier League of service design.
I’m looking forward to delivering great digital services with the rest of the dxw team and playing my part in enriching the lives of all citizens that the public sector serves.
