Our dxw wellbeing weeks
It’s really important to encourage a sustainable pace of work and a healthy work/life balance
We’re always thinking about how we can help keep our team happy and healthy. We think it’s really important to encourage a sustainable pace of work and a healthy work-life balance. As the company has grown, we want to look again at what we’re able to offer, so we decided to hold a wellbeing week to try out some new things.
What we did
To get started, we held a planning session that was open to everyone. The initial concept was a combination of outsourced dxw funded events (like a professional art class or posture clinics) and staff hobbies or interests that people want to share with others (like photography or cooking).
During the session discussions we decided to:
- extend the wellbeing week to 2 weeks to minimise the impact on client work and ensure everyone has the time to get involved if they want to
- create a wellbeing calendar to allow anyone to create an event during the wellbeing fortnight (and afterwards)
- allow the team to vote on some activities to help us decide what to do
So where are we now?
Team members have been adding events that they would like to run to the calendar over the past month. Some highlights include singing with Vanessa and John, dumpling making with Hilary, sketching with Agz, and geocaching with Cristina. Something for everyone!
Our wellbeing weeks start on Monday 3rd June, with our first session being morning yoga. We’re using an online app to make the yoga available to all our team members based in Leeds, London, or the States. It’s looking to be a really exciting couple of weeks.
